Community radio station and generator built from scrap.
Electricity came to his Freetown neighbourhood about once a week. Doe made batteries from acid, soda and metal wrapped in tape, built a generator from scrap to run a community radio station, and assembled the FM transmitter, mixer and amplifier himself, broadcasting as "DJ Focus". He became the youngest visiting practitioner at MIT in 2012, at 16.
