Keshav Anand and Viren Bankapur developed GaitGuardian, combining real-time inertial-sensor processing, visual monitoring and machine learning for people with advanced Parkinson’s disease. Multiple sensing modes can capture different aspects of gait and help reveal changes that a single measurement may miss.

Innovation mindset: When a condition varies over time, design continuous, multimodal observation rather than relying only on occasional snapshots.
