A Wearable Stethoscope Array.
Kayley Xu designed a wearable array capable of localising cardiopulmonary sounds and suppressing interference through beamforming. Instead of a clinician placing one stethoscope head at a time, an array can compare multiple measurements and identify where a sound originates.
Innovation mindset: Convert a single-point instrument into a spatial system so noise can be separated from clinically relevant sound.
