Mariam Almohaish investigated advanced gas-chromic coatings that visibly respond to hydrogen leakage in future storage and transport infrastructure. Because hydrogen is colourless and highly flammable, early, intuitive leak indication can complement electronic safety systems.

Innovation mindset: Make an invisible danger visible at the material surface where the leak first appears.

Official project title: Hydrogen Safety Through Advanced Gas Chromic Coatings for Leak Detection in Next-Generation Storage and Transportation Infrastructure (Energy: Sustainable Materials and Design).
