Hanin Alhassan developed a self-charging aqueous zinc-ion battery using calcium-vanadium-oxide nanostructures prepared from recycled mortar. The concept links construction waste recovery with safer aqueous battery research.

Innovation mindset: Combine two sustainability problems—material waste and energy storage—so the output of one system becomes the input of another.
