What usually goes wrong

Disclosing before filing

A pitch deck, a trade show or a customer demo can destroy novelty. Once your invention is public without a priority date, the patent is usually gone for good.

Filing the wrong thing first

Startups often file a complete specification when a provisional would have bought twelve months and cost a fraction. The reverse mistake is just as expensive.

Paying large-entity fees needlessly

Startups, MSMEs and small entities pay far lower government fees — but only if the claim is made correctly at filing.

No freedom-to-operate check

Building on technology someone else has already patented is a risk that surfaces at exactly the wrong moment: during due diligence.

How we work with companies

01

Commercial-first strategy

We start from what you sell and where you plan to sell it, then decide what to protect and in what order.

02

Startup and MSME fee rates

We claim the correct applicant category so you pay the lower government fee, and we show you both figures separately.

03

Speed when it matters

Application number within 24 hours where a disclosure, launch or funding round makes the date critical.

04

Portfolio, not one-off filings

Renewals, further applications and a watch on competitor filings, so protection keeps pace with the roadmap.

05

Due-diligence-ready records

Clean documentation your investors and acquirers can verify without friction.

06

Commercialisation through IPBANK INDIA

When you are ready to license or sell, the same team runs the transfer.

Transparent pricing

Questions we are asked most

How soon can we file?

A provisional application can be filed within 24 hours where the date is critical, provided we have a clear technical description from you.

Should we file provisional or complete first?

If the invention is still evolving, a provisional secures your date for twelve months at lower cost. If it is settled and you want examination to begin, a complete specification is the right route. We will tell you which applies to your case on the call.

Do we qualify for startup government fees?

If you hold a DPIIT startup recognition, or qualify as a small entity or MSME, the government fee is substantially lower. We check your eligibility before filing and claim it correctly.

What happens if we have already shown the product publicly?

Tell us the date and the circumstances. India allows a limited grace period in specific situations, but it is narrow. The sooner we look at it, the more options remain.

Can you handle filings outside India?

Yes. We advise on PCT and national-phase strategy and coordinate with foreign associates in the jurisdictions you need.

Not happy with something? We keep a dedicated complaint-handling team, separate from the people delivering your matter. Every complaint gets a reference number and an independent review. Raise a complaint or send feedback.

Ready to protect it?

A short conversation is usually enough to tell you whether you have something protectable, which route fits, and what it will cost.
