MYCrave Consultancy & Services
For researchers, faculty, students and institutions

The prototype in your lab has a protectable shape. Most of them are never registered.

Design registration is the fastest, cheapest form of IP protection in India — and the one academic work most often qualifies for. From Rs. 3,999, with drawings prepared for you if the sketch is on paper.

  • 70+ institutional IP cells established
  • 4,200+ seminars delivered
  • Drawings prepared in-house
  • Individual and institutional rates

Why academic designs go unprotected

Exhibited at a project fair first

A college exhibition, a poster session or a demo day is a public disclosure. Once the design has been shown, registration is usually refused.

Assumed to be patent-only

Many student projects are not patentable but are clearly registrable as designs. The opportunity is missed because nobody assessed the appearance separately.

Hand sketches on paper

A registrable idea gets abandoned because nobody could produce Design Office standard drawings from it.

Unclear ownership

Student, guide, department, funder — with no written position, the design sits unprotected because nobody is sure who may file.

How we work with institutions on designs

01

Design assessment for the whole batch

We review a department's projects together and tell you which are registrable and which are not worth filing.

02

Drawings from your sketch or prototype

Send a photograph or a sketch. Our designers do the rest.

03

Individual and institutional fee rates

Natural persons, institutions and small entities pay the lower government fee, and we always show it separately.

04

Counts towards accreditation

Filed and registered designs feed into NAAC, NIRF and institutional innovation metrics. We supply documentation your team can submit.

05

Students stay named

The student remains the named designer. We handle the process, not the credit.

06

Route to transfer

Registered designs can be licensed or transferred through IPBANK INDIA — one client released 106 of them for public use.

Transparent pricing

Success stories

What protection looks like in practice

Real work from our filings across manufacturing, education, pharma and consumer products. Client names appear only where we have permission to use them.

Questions we are asked most

Can a student file a design registration?

Yes. A natural person can be an applicant and pays the lowest government fee. Where the institution has an IP policy, we help apply it correctly so ownership is documented from the start.

We only have a hand-drawn sketch. Is that enough?

To start, yes. Our designers convert sketches and photographs into the formal representations the Design Office requires — that is the Rs. 5,999 option.

Is a design registration weaker than a patent?

It is different, not weaker. A design protects appearance and is faster and cheaper to obtain; a patent protects how something works. Many projects deserve both, and we will tell you which applies.

Does this help our accreditation submissions?

Yes. Registered IP counts towards research and innovation indicators, and we provide the filing documentation your accreditation team needs.

Can you assess a whole department's projects at once?

That is usually the most efficient approach. We run an assessment session on campus and come back with a shortlist worth filing.

Not happy with something? We keep a dedicated complaint-handling team, separate from the people delivering your matter. Every complaint gets a reference number and an independent review. Raise a complaint or send feedback.

Ready to protect it?

A short conversation is usually enough to tell you whether you have something protectable, which route fits, and what it will cost.
