The recent exciting news is that Germany has applied for a Trademark for KHADI products. I guess they are not very well aware of the history that, for us Indians, it is not just a mere cloth type, but a movement by Gandhiji during the British Rule. There have been some issues related to renewing the trademark applications and complaints to cancel the German request. But I guess our history says it all. Why do we need laws to protect it?
