Editorial Policy

Everything published in the MYCrave resource library concerns Indian Intellectual Property law, statutory procedure, official fees and filing strategy. Readers act on this material, so we hold it to the standards below. This policy applies to every guide, service page, FAQ answer and downloadable checklist on this site.

Who writes and who reviews

Every guide names the person who wrote it and, where the subject involves legal procedure, statutory interpretation, official fees or filing strategy, the qualified professional who reviewed it. We do not publish expert content under a generic "Admin" or "Team" byline.

• Author — researches and drafts the guide, and is named on the page.
• Reviewer — a MYCrave professional with relevant qualifications who checks the legal and procedural accuracy before publication. Patent procedure content is reviewed by a Registered Patent Agent.
• Credentials — the reviewer's role and registration details appear on the page and link to their profile on our experts page.

Sources and evidence

We work from primary sources: the Patents Act 1970, the Trade Marks Act 1999, the Designs Act 2000, the Copyright Act 1957, the rules made under them, and the official material published by the Office of the Controller General of Patents, Designs and Trade Marks and the Copyright Office. Where a guide states a fee, a statutory period or a form number, it is drawn from the official schedule current at the time of review, and each guide lists the sources it relies on.

We do not cite unattributed blog posts as authority for legal propositions, and we do not present a firm's commercial opinion as settled law.

Fees, timelines and figures

Government fees, professional fees, optional stages and applicable taxes are always presented separately, so a reader can see exactly what is statutory and what is our charge. Statutory fees and timelines change; every page carrying figures shows when it was last reviewed, and we recommend confirming current figures before you act.

Timelines given on this site are realistic ranges based on our filing experience, not guarantees. Registry workload, objections, oppositions and hearing schedules affect every matter differently.

Review and update cycle

Legal content is reviewed at least quarterly, and immediately when a change in the rules, fee schedules, forms, registry portal or significant case law affects it. Each guide displays a "last reviewed" date. A substantive update changes the review date; a typographic fix does not.

Use of AI tools

We may use AI tools to assist with research organisation, structural drafting and language editing. No guide is published from AI output alone: every page on this site is written or substantively edited by a named human author and, for legal content, checked by a named human reviewer who takes responsibility for its accuracy.

Corrections

If you find an error, tell us and we will fix it. Write to info@mycrave.co.in with the page address and the problem. We correct factual and legal errors as a priority, note material corrections on the page itself, and update the review date when the substance changes.

Independence and commercial disclosure

Our guides recommend the course of action we believe is correct for the reader's situation, including where that means telling someone not to file, to choose a different form of protection, or that their idea is unlikely to be registrable. We do not accept payment to feature third-party products or services in editorial content.
